 Lighter side of Support

As you may have guessed by the time you reached this page I feel that some of the support families receive tends to focus on the problems and possible medication for the problem, which is a good thing and very important.  However, choose how gray things are I feel that we may need to look on the lighter side and learn to have more fun and make the most of the blessings we have been given, however few or small they may seem.

 I hope to give you some links to places that as grown-up people you may find something to lighten your mood, give you fun ideas for family and friends and stuff like that.  Please share any you find with our friends!

A Safe Place to Play?

It's really difficult to let our Little Angels loose online for lots of reasons, there are a lot of not nice things out there and some people may be a danger to our Little Angels.  But their friends go online and we are being a bit odd about it, they know about strangers etc and mom/dad is being difficult blah, blah.  Sound familiar?

I think the best way is to have a good look around the site before you let them go on there and keep wandering past when they are online if possible without being too obvious.  Even Bear, who is 3 can notice me wondering when he's on CBeebees in case he's  somewhere else by mistake.  If you make a log-in name for them you can set the age limits and get a report of where they have been if you are concerned.  I find having a laptop makes life easier as they can be in the kitchen or lounge with me, being pals rather than shut in their room.  Ok so mine are 7 and 3 but I have no intentions of having internet in their room until college.

I have just found another site for kids with special needs aimed at 8-12 year olds, so this should be ok, it does however seem to give them the chance to meet an onsite friend, which could be invaluable if you are experiencing friendship problems.  Worth a look together perhaps.
