Well it's Saturday Afternoon, how did that happen?

The boys both got stickers Friday for being good/working hard  too - wow what clever boys, at the moment they are playing on Starwars Lego x-box so peacefully I'm leaving them to it.
I have Batman hiden on my desk for another time too, hee-hee!

I've done all the chores, more or less and been outside taking the dead leaves of the strawberries, giving the Fur-babies run a good clean and exciting things like that.

The main reason I've not been around is that when I changed the look of the site with the new rainbow heading I realisied that a lot of the pages I couldn't see the writing too clears so not sure what happened there, it's taking me a while to fit in changing everything so it is easier to see so bear with me.

I've been playing on the wii fit and yesterday tried the Samba De Amigo game that came with it, it's silly but once you get gong a good workout and I was giggling away and have only 2 levels to go to finish it - suddenly it got hard, maybe I was tired after almost 3 hours shaking my marakas lol.

Fairy She-ra had a disaster with her washing machine so I sent her some socks and ballet slippers she can wear inside her slippers to keep her cold wet feet warm and she sent me a lovely e-card so  I  Ithink she was pleased.

Goat has had 2 dry nights which is miraculous but he needs to learn to wak up regularly and try to go to the loo as eventually his body will get used to the hormone replacement and they will no longer work, sad but true.

Waking him in the night is not easy as he's not going to sleep until gone 10-pm again at the moment and as he's up before 7 it's a long day, for him, I think when he falls asleep he's so tired he goes unconscious but I'm only his mum, who listens to me, lol.

I'm hoping this next week to hear about who will be helping him in class too.

Bear has done all the homework he's been avoiding since Chistmas too, what a good lad!

love and hugs to all - new strategies found to share and as soon as I get the backgrounds soted so we can read the pages I will post then all for you!

Boys, Boys, Boys

I am playing catch-up due to being too buzzzzy and unable to get on the computer as soon as I made a promise to try harder, sigh!

Today Bear brought home a Red Rainbow Award that he actually got on his Birthday in December but still exciting and it's gone on the dresser alone with the Star of the Week Goat got for a good science lesson last week!

I got new rigga boots for the wasteland and then Grampy gave me some cash to get some which is rather nice and will save me from the thorns until it is cleared and lovely!
Of course I  spent the replacement money on a surpirse for the boys an  X-box Lego Batman game which should be here by weekend.

Goat had to go see the pead yesterday afternoon and they doubled his tablets so finally last night a DRY NAPPY!  So  tonight they had tea at Grampys and are now paddying majestically due to a falling out over what to play with seconds after they were dropped off lol.
I told them to go to bed which ended with Goat laid on the floor hitting himself in the head with the door, two steps forward one step back, heehee.
What he has forgotten is that I am setting the alarm for a couple of hours after bedtime to get him up for a wee.  We tried this a couple of years ago but he wasn't ready and it was really hard work, going on his mood tonight - overtired I am not expecting a good start, hey-ho see how we go...

Ahhh the joys of parenting - can I get a reinforced throat for having to shout over their screams do you think?  I tend to catch hold of an arm each and talk quietly so the y have to stop and listen - mean but effective as long as I watch out for flying limbs lol!

So that's todays tip when restraining the kids from throttling one another watch out for flying limbs - they can hurt, oh yes indeedy.

Have a great day folks!

Hi-ho Hi-ho! It's Gardening we go-o-o!

Posted by Pinks at 09:53 AM on January 19, 2009 Comments comments (0)

After years of dreaming of a bigger garden Shrek has finally found us a little space to call home grown!

So yesterday as the First Sunny Sunday of 2009 off we wnt with a shovel a pick and a great big stick to see what could be done!
We found the gateway and check out that sunshine!  Looks like a pink fairy watching over us, how wonderful!

Well there was nothing for it but to go inside and see what was appertaining and what was appertaining was weeds, blackthorn so temperamental it can go straight through your crocs (new work boots per-lease Shrek?) and a couple of unlighted bonfires.

We waded through the mud, it tried to suck us down and escaping made hilarious sucking noises, we checked for hedgehogs, we lit a fire and moved stuff from other piles, we laughed and I fell over quite a bit as it's a talent of mine, Shrek laughed at me a lit - it's a talent of his.
Soon we had a lovely twig fire but sadly no jacket potatoes and a little time to explore the old bricks etc.

For the full pickies you can go to my photobucket but my favourite is here!
http://s273.photobucket.com/albums/jj212/pinkyfae/PinkysGarden/

Soon it was dark and cold, the fire burned down and we promised our new garden we'd be back really soon.
No-one else would have their garden 7 miles from home would they, lol!

GOOD LITTLE  GOAT

Hi everyone, this is where I tell you all about Goats School Days.

Week 5 of Autumn Term

I'm playing catchup so there's just over a week and next week I should be about to do it Friday afternoon weathere permitting, lol.

The Autism Nurse did not seem to appear last Thursday, apparently she observed Goat during Golden time and is coming to spend time with him on 31th to assess how much he understands compared to how much he parrots back.  He survived Thursday and Friday with mimimal fuss although still Not A Happy Chappy.  This involved taking his temper out on all of us - A Lot.  Saturday I took them to the local Animal Farm visitor Centre to get mugged by Pygmy Goats, lambs, Llamas, cow, pigs and various other sweeties, then we went into town to choose Birthday presents, even this didn't seem to really chear Goat up and there was a lot of attitude floating about, definately a Wild Goat.  He went to Grandma's Sunday afternoon for a couple of hours so she got to play Spot the Frustration too.

Tuesday was Goat's 8th birthday, he had presents before and after school, a Scooby-doo birthday cake, Chinese takeaway as requested for tea and a late night.  This seemed to chear him up.  In the afternoon I had a meeting with the school psychologist and they are finally agreeing that Goat needs some help.  He is joining a session for writing and numbers in December, and dependant on his Autism nurse assessment may receieve some more help or support on a regular basis.  The Government Statmenting Lady will try to fit him in Christmas time to re-assess his development too.  Hopefully he will get some one-to-one provision but as his work when they can make him comcentrate ong enough is good the problem is more behavioural although he is not disruptive.  They are struggling to find his exact needs, but they are finally starting to realise that being in Juniors is a little too much independance for him. As I was in school I made sure he got to craft club in one peice, no turning up at home.  The bus ladydecided however it was her turn to pick at him, after almost 2 years of putting him on the bus she prefers it when I pick him up as she has to help him with his money, even though I send the correct change, sigh.  My mum used to do that job and I know she used to help everyone.  Needless to say she will no longer be in charge of Goat as I will drive down to pick him up, today I had to wake Bear up to go fetch him, but he was ok.  Goat also managed to draw the fingers on some clock faces for different hours tonight for Grampy and I so we're on the way to teaching him to tell time and his writing is improving but it's hard work, making him do stuff he should be getting help with in school and I feel that although he enjoys it we may be being unfair.

There had been some bullying today, 1, pushed him over, 2 held him down and another was banging his head on the floor, the 4 involved later saw the headmaster, so hopefully something has been sorted out, must check whether they keep records of these incidents, hmmm.  Good job I keep mine.  Goat by the way seems fine about the whole thing, in case you thought I'd forgotten.

Well that's me done until next week, let's hope next week's happier for him.

Week 4 of Autumn Term

I know we're only on Wednesday but I need to do a bit of catch-up.  Goat had a lovely weekend as always, pootleing about at home doing cookery, gardening, playing out etc.

Then it was Monday again and off he went to school, where Camelion took his glasses and slapped his face and tummy.  We'd managed to find a few bits out over the weekend and he was a quite uphappy little Goat.

Tuesday, antelope tells Goat that he has to go on the bus home and is not allowed to go to craft club.  Antelope is not attending craft club until the next time as they do it for 5 weeks to enable them to fit everyone in with a nice sized group, she   probably thought she was helping. Goat crossed the road by himself and landed in Sunshine House way before I expected to go pick him up.  The problem, apart from the road crossing is of course that I may not have been in.   To make it worse, this means that Goat is over-excited for Beavers and spends the time for learning First Aid playing skids on the wonderful wooden floor that is just made for skidding on if you're 7 years old.  As it is the 3rd week of a 4 week trail, things are not looking good when he starts tapping a tune on the metal casings of the electric plug sockets, one of the leaders has to spend time trying to calm Goat down instead of spending time with his group.

Now it's Wednesday morning and having been berrated by his teacher as "You're not going to be late then" as I'm leaving the cloakroom I inform him that I'm on my way to playschool next and will be there by 9.20 as "Oh you've not already been then" he says looking at his watch, I tell him I will be trying my extreme best to be on time and leave in tears.  As I drive to playschool the radio tells me it is 10 past and I am in school by 9.18.  The meeting suprisingly goes quite well, even the bit where I tell the teacher how unapporachable he is and that having reduced me to tears twice this term I wonder how my son feels.  This is not an advisable course of practice, and I wouldn't recommend it but he really ticks me off.  we never really got as far as setting the IEP targets, but the Autism Nurse - promised for years is seeing Goat tomorrow.  The ressurection of the Speech Therapist is withheld, the Educational Psychologist is in on his Birthday - next Thursday afternoon and I need to meet with her.  The Statementing Lady will be assessing him again somewhere around Christmas, she sat in on the meeting and tried  hard to be objective. Last time he was assessed because it was so much fun he got about 90% in each section so as we all agree he is in no way unintelligent.  The problems are that he is socially inept (autism) clumsy (dyspraxia) and has an amazing lack of concentration (ADHD).  This leads to the problems with his work and social position in the class (especially when they've mixed classes together and he's lost all of his male friends but still has 3 or 4 of the girls from last year that spend time with him), he does not tend to be disruptive but can get frustrated and angry if the routine is not adhered to.   The problem for Goat is that regardless of his intelligence he needs help to stay on task and his year has 2 classroom assistants one of whom is already spending a lot of time with him and who takes the craft group so he loves her to bits.  All in all things are starting to look promising, maybe he will finally start getting the help he so rightly deserves and he will learn better social skills to enable him to make more friends.  Let's just hope that things are finally on the up for my Little Goat!

Week 3 of Autumn Term

Goat has a lovely weekend, helps Daddy pick up the new car and look after it, goes to the beach, park and Grandmas with Bear, Helps Grampy measure for  the new rabbit run, helps with the new bathroom and  gets to choose which film to watch with his take-away on Saturday evening.

Goat goes to Beavers on Tuesday and is allowed to stay, it is a 4 week trial but he's been given a tiny badge pin so it must be going well, he comes home happy and just like anyone else who's been running about and having fun for an hour, it's really lovely to see.  Then he goes out with Daddy in the new car to see Daddy's friend so he's a little late to bed but non the worse for it.

Goat has to play with Kangaroo or Kangaroo hurts Goats friends Cat and Leopard, he plays with Kangaroo because he doesn't want his feelings to be hurt even tho' he is in Goats words "the school bully" the child is 7 years old so that's quite an achievement. I have passed this information on to the school.

Goat is placed in a PE group and they have to throw and catch - brilliant fun if you're dyspraxic are with Cochroach and Terrapin and they don't throw to you and laugh at you.  Terrapin even sits on the same table in class and says nasty things or ignors Goat.  Cochroach was meant to have been sorted out for kicking and punching last week.  Frustrated Goat goes to the teacher who tells Goat he's buzy and to go back to his group.

The next morning I ask the teacher about this.  I spoke to him 3 times before he acknowledged me and then he said "what is it?"  At that point, looking into his shirt buttons 2 inches from my nose I'm backing away and wanting to scream, run away or both.  I ask about the PE lesson and am told "you should come and see me after school not in a morning you're inconvenient now," I am infuriated and start to ask about the excess homework but he turns his back and walks away leaving his class standing in a line waiting to go inside.  I silently fume and cry my way home, this person is not going to treat my Goat like this.  I ring the receptionist, the head is not in. Eventually on Thursday I see the head.

We now have an IEP (Individual Educational Plan) review on Wednesday and I am promised no more excess homework, we have to wait with baited breath now.   The head is apparently completely in agreement with me, will try to sit in on the meeting and wants Goat to be happy and his needs met.  He feels the work should be tailored to his needs in such a way that he can complete, get a sense of achievment and want to learn more.  Let's hope we can get him so far on Goats side that there is some benefit  to Goats education.  I still say as long as Goat's happy, trying his best and not disrupting the others I'm not too worried.

After spendimg over an hour on yet another piece of work sent home to finish, on top of the required homework, I decide that Goat is never going to catch up, he cannot get his letters the right shape and has no idea where to start and finish.  More for Yummy Mummy to Magic better, sigh.  As always we spend time over the weekend on and off for a few minutes a time, doing handwriting, maths, etc in fun ways, but I am beginning to wonder whether this helps him, progression is very slow and I feel the school should get their finger out and help too.

What would happen if his family didn't try to help him?  Are we doing him an disservice by trying to help as it's making the correct help harder to get?  I am going to have to fight for him to get the help he needs and deserves and I hope to be victorious.  I will keep writing down what happens in the hope that even one other family will push to get the help their Little Angels so rightly deserve.

Week 2 of Autumn term

After the excitement of Mondays meeting with the Headmaster Goat came home a bit happier Monday afternoon.  The bus thing has been sorted out for now, they both have to save their upset tempers to tell the head the next day.  The other childs science book is returned and although it takes well over an hour we do the work, much to Goats discust.  The completed workwook and the other childs book stay in the bag until Thursday.  Only to be replace by a different childs book on Friday for  that needs completing over this weekend, so tonight it was yet another hours work. so that is not sorted at all, but I am waiting for the Head to ring as promised.  Homework yep, I can do that- schoolwork - isn't that what they're for?

On a brighter note Goat went to Beavers on Tuesday evening and had a wild time, he can go up to Cubs for his birthday or wait for Christmas when a lot of them go up together, just depends on how he gets on during a 4 week trail.  Hopefully this is going to be good for him.   Kids club re-opens on a Thursday soon too and he enjoys that so I know he'll be ok there.

He's had a few paddies but one of the boys he plays with is a bit of a bully and has now been banned from the school field. effectively separting him from all their little group.  Goat and Llama have both had a much better week and maybe won't want to play with Kangaroo again.  This has to be a plus for the girls in their group too.

***

He's not having much fun at the moment, he went back to school on 6 Sept and  they've muddled the classes up so he only has 2 little girl friends and none of his little boy friends.

This is a catch-up of his new school term so far, today is only day 8.

3 hours into new term teacher tells me "He's done all I've asked but he's really slow - can you bring a superfast Goat tomorrow please?"   This is in front of Goat as I take him to see the pead about his special needs

Cocroach - same class - hurts him every time he gets near him, teacher knows has asked Cocroach  to be nice or he will send him to the head.

Thursday - I tell teacher Goat has been sick 2 nights, think something may be wrong, please keep an eye out - RAISED eyebrows, rolled eyes!  Just so you're aware somethings may be upsetting him I say and leave quickly.

Friday night Viper shoves Goat's head into bus window as he wants to press the bell, makes him drop his lolly from Antalope's birthday and his stuff all over the floor, Goat comes in crying and is sick.

Last night Goat's sick in Grandma's car -  cos he's NOT happy but won't talk to anyone.

Goats science book and another childs book in his book bag - "You need to finish this Goat" written at the bottom of the page.  I have not made Goat finish this!

This morning he was late  as I cross examined him but I cannot help if I do not know - I feel bad about that too, must have felt like I was joining in...

I went to see the headmaster

I have asked
why they drag me to IEP meetings where he gets the same targets that he cannot reach, and they tell me how they're going to help but I see and hear of no results
why they tell me his work is too good to get help and then he only gets a few 3 and mostly 4 on his report (1 is top 5 is bottom)
why should I do his school work with him at home - homework I'm good with but if he cannot do it in class then they need to help him.
Can he look into the physical abuse?
What am I meant to do about the bus situation - he is going on that bus and if they can't sort it the community policeman can as if it continues it will be reported as assault - ok it's not strictly his area but if I cannot approach the parents then he is better than the police.  I have to live next door to this family and they are not nice to us as it is.

The head has asked for a week to see what he can sort out, but I think that might have been just the bus and the homework thing, dunno any more.

Dad's gonna see what books he can get tomorrow to help with Goats handwriting , he thinks Goat has to learn to do as he's asked but if he could write quicker the other stuff'd be easier.

I know no-one cares, but they're gonna have to help him as he doesn't like me much either right now.  I don't know if I could motivate him to homeschool, and what about socialising?  We stopped kids club last year as his teacher couldn't do anything with him on a Friday after he went , but he's going back, this week or next and they can deal with him, he's almost 8 he needs to learn to deal with social situations.

Apart from this Goat is still the sweet, helpful, waffy little man we love. This teatime we are going to plant mushrooms.  Lucky I got those yesterday, I'm beginning to feel a bit like a mushroom too!

Buzzzy Bear Bumbles 'Bout!

Buzzzy Bear Bumbles

Yummy Mummy Magic has 2 Little Angels living with her hoping to shine their Halos, this can be a lot easier said that done, but they get there in the end.

Buzzy Bear Bumbles is about Bears afternoon adventures after a hectic morning at playschool.  He doesn't have an adventure every day but he tries his best to!

Bear is 3 and has another year at playschool then it's the big wide world of reception class and full days, whatever is Yummy Mummy going to do then you wonder, well I have no idea.

Week 2

Bear brought home a beautiful red car you can put your fingers through for wheels, he'd done most of it himself and it was shiny with tin foil.  Cookery was fun too he made scone biscuits, mmm. He's also discovered the complete joy of the 3-5 years workbooks I got him and is scribbling away like mad, with a little help from his mommy.  Gardening and looking after the pets have all provided small times of entertainment as has pinching the laptop to play Pooh Bear Preschool every chance he gets, but it teaches colours, letters, numbers and easy coloouring so it's all good stuff.  The 2 weeks with every morning seem to be starting to tire Bear out earlier in an evening, which means he's more occupied and using his brain more.  It also means more tired paddies and fallling out with Goat who just tells me Bear is tired and i take them to lie down with a book until he perks up or dozes off.

***

Back to school last Thursday Bear took the opportunity to walk from playschool into the village and have lunch from the cafe at the pirate boat adventure park, then he and Newty dog walked home, just in time for Goat getting in from Big Boys school.

Friday Bear was tired so he walked home and played in the garden with Suki Bunny and Spiky Cavey and Newty dog.  Polly cat is still a bit sneezy with her hayfever so she had a rest for once.

Monday was very windy so after playschool the beach was too tingles with flying sand and Bear had to play with his kite on the nature reserve.  He saw some interesting butterflies and chased them to see where they went.

Tuesday was a big walk to Grampys to drop Newty-dog off, into the village for lunch at the Pirate Boat adventure playground where Bear found not one but 2 huge diamonds, he was very impressed with his treasure.  Then it was time for Pirates to hit the paddling pool so we did with a huge splash.  Next it was round to the butchers to get something for tea and pick Newty dog up.  Then Bear and Newty-dog walked home.  Bear decided it was a spaghetti bolognaise night and helped cut up the mushrooms and put the pasta in the pan ready for Goat and Daddy getting home.  Then he helped grate some cheese for on top.   Goat helped Bear with his workbooks and Bear listened to Goat read his reading book until tea time.  What a lovely but tiring day, zzzz.

Wednesday was a trip to the garden centre in the car and help Yummy Mummy to plant lots of pansys and violas and a new strawberry plant.  A quick go on Cbeebies and some time with Goat and his reading booki and somecrayons.

Today Beach Bear's Back, back again.  Yummy Mummy packed lunch and Newty-dogs things and we poddled off to the beach after a lovely morning at playschool and a fantastic paint blob finger people picture.   Bear threw Newty-dogs ball and they both swam in a big rock-pool where bear found some shrimps, this was very exciting as he'd not seen them before.  When the sandy pair got home Yummy Mummy had to pop the Bear in the shower and chase Newty-dog with ths hose.  When they were both dry Bear wanted CBeebies which meant he was tired and he fell asleep on the sofa.  Goat came home from school and got Bear some treats and wrote a note saying I love you to go with them for when he wakes up.  Goat is going to wait for Bear to read his book.  Goat is going to help with tea tonight.

What buzzzy days Bear has!  Come back soon to see what else he gets up to!

Yummy Mummy Moments

As nothing much has happened I haven't written it down, lol!

Goat is suffering back to school stress and has been sick 2 evenings this term, at least we know the MRI came back ok, so I shall monitor it and see how he goes.

Bear is asleep on the sofa.  He's been soo buzzy, on Tuesday after playschool he'd walked miles to the boat play area, paddling pool, butchers, Grampys house twice and home and today after playschool he went to the beach swimming in giant rockpools with Newty-dag for 2 hours, home, shower, snack, snore - yep both of them, ahh, so I'm gonna have fun at bedtime, ho-hum.

Shrek has now grouted the walls and floor in the bathroom, maybe we'll get the sink and loo fitted soon, maybe....

I've had some beautiful pictures and comments for Halos and that's wonderful!  Just wish I had time to pop all my ideas into practice and some more people would join in, but it'll get there in time perhaps. or it won't and I'll have a brilliant place to hang out with my friends, lol!

Managed to draw some pictures of Daisy but not happy with her yet, will have to post another Daisy and Dan story soon for our Little Angels too.   I want to get them done as I found a site that'll print my design and send it to a fairy friend direct, saving me a whole lot of work, just need to get it all set up, I've started so I'll have to finish sometime.

Oh well as always the housework keeps calling me forsakenly till I do a little so I'd better go before the rug becomes a tongue and flicks me out of the front door, lol!

YUMMY MUMMY MAGIC

Ok everyone, this is my little bit where I pop any ideas for Halos and Rainbows, tell you any cute things Goat or Bear did or just about my day.

Yesterday I went into town and Shrek-Gimli bought me a new outfit, bless him and a Ned Kelly DVD because it had Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom in, I didn?t even know what the film was just spotted the case and said oooh lets have this, lol. It was good except 2 of my favourite men suprisingly looked not very gorgeous at all. But still well worth watching, Shrek says it?s about acting skills not looking cute, hmmm, what do you think?

Bear brought my ring yesterday morning and I put it on, then brought my necklace and I put it on; he gave me a very appraising look and said ?you look beautiful now mummy? aww, he often does little things like that, including getting a different top out of my draw and telling me ?wear this one today? and then saying, ?yep, pretty now? when I change. Little Monkey, if he?s like this at 3 will I ever be cool enough?

I?ve been trying to sort out some designs for some souvenirs from Halos and am trying to get Daisy and Dan drawn for their little stories. As you know I plan on giving profits to Charity so if you see any good links, ideally those where I design it, someone else orders it and the company post it out direct please let me know, could be good for presents etc, worth a try anyway, let me know your thoughts on this please.

We?re back to school on Thursday so I guess summer is over, have you got all your stuff ready? I?ve set Bear a school bag up too. Goat had to have his things for year 3 but Bear just has a towel for Play school so I set him one up too, bag, exercise and colouring books and a Tigger pencil case. He has another year to ?big school? and I intend him to be able to read and write a bit before he starts. It?s probably due to having so many problems when Goat started but as long as it?s fun I think it?ll be a help to him.

Today was a big one for Goat, he struggles with his bike and was determined to ride it to my dads, almost a mile, well it took an hour with all the falling off etc but we got there in the end. We walked to the Play Park and back, lol. Then it took just over 1 ½ hours to get back so we?re a little frazzled, still as Fizzgig would tell us ?practice perfection makes?

More soon

Love and Huggles to you all

Magic
